Millions of women became obsessed with the handsome, cool vampire when the hit movie Twilight opened last year. The 23-year-old also has been flying high after appearing in the last Harry Potter movie. The “Twilight” heartthrob virtually chuckled from beginning to the end of our interview.

“Will you marry me?” our female colleague proposed to Robert. She was, of course, joking, since we all knew that in the “Eclipse” volume of “The Twilight Saga” series, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan finally get engaged. Or, at least we thought our Asian friend was only teasing Robert, because he was downright charming and easygoing.

“Why not?” Robert shot back, his blue-green eyes smiling, but he was blushing. With his three days’ worth of facial hair growth and trademark bed hair adding to his roguish charm, Robert probably gets several marriage proposals every day. Even Megan Fox said in an interview: “I want to eat Robert Pattinson.”

British trait

“I’m honestly being self-deprecating,” he said of his disarming, self-effacing British trait. “Eventually, people are like, ‘Oh, we’re so sick of the self-deprecating act. Why can’t he grow some balls?’ I guess you have to roll with that. You do realize that if you keep putting yourself down all the time, an audience suddenly says, ’That guy is an idiot!’ So, it’s strange. You have to push in certain areas. It’s always two steps forward, and one step back.”

Lady Gaga is to kick off a new comic book series focusing on the lives of pop culture icons.

American publisher Bluewater Productions announced the launch of the new series, to be called Fame.

The first issue, featuring the life story of the US singer, will be out in time for Free Comic Book Day on May 5.

Recently, pop culture artist Brian Einersen announced an entirely separate comic called Lady Saga, inspired by the pop diva and featuring fictional adventures in the world of fashion.

Future issues of Bluewater's Fame series will focus on such stars as Robert Pattinson, 50 Cent, David Beckham and Taylor Swift. Bluewater president Darren G. Davis said: "Over the past year we saw an opportunity to broaden the scope of who reads comics.

A lot of people asked us whether Robert Pattinson would attend tomorrow’s People’s Choice Awards, the first big Hollywood gathering of 2010.

Gossip Cop has learned that, because of work commitments, Pattinson will NOT be at the show. Pattinson has been nominated in the “Favorite Movie Actor” category. The People’s Choice Awards, hosted at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live by Queen Latifah, air tomorrow on CBS.
