Before Edward left, Bella had not considered Jacob Black (werewolf) her best friend, and she is in vain trying to make Edward and Jacob make peace and be friends. She is torn between the love she feels for Edward and the strong friendship between her and Jacob. Can she make them see reason, and can they be good to each other to keep from hurting Bella? And there are new dangers lurking around the corners; Seattle is stalked by mass murderers beyond humanity. Who's behind this, and what connection does it have with Bella? Everyone sparkles.

• DID CATHERINE HARDWICKE CONFIRM KPATTZ ROMANCE?
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Michelle

After pictures of them almost holding hands at an airport surfaced earlier this week, the furor over Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s possible offscreen romance has been reignited. Catherine Hardwicke, the director for the first Twilight move, fans the flames in a recent interview, implying Stewart has finally decided to “give this a go” with Pattinson.

"After I cast him, I told Rob, Don't even think about having a romance with her. She's under 18. You will be arrested," Hardwicke told TIME in a recent article on the Twilight phenomenon. Pattinson and Stewart first met when the British actor flew to Los Angeles to test for the role of Edward Cullen- a role both Hardwicke and Stewart lobbied for him to get.

"I didn't have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say," Hardwicke continued about their time together shooting the first installment of the franchise. "But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film.”
However, the chemistry was clear from the start and it seemed like a romance with Pattinson was only a matter of time.

Hardwick added, “I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person."

• TWILIGHT'S 'NEW MOON' SPECIALS TAKE TWILIGHTERS BEHIND THE SCENES
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Michelle

Ever since they first read Stephenie Meyer's novel, Twilighters all over the world have been counting down the days until next week's release of the "New Moon" movie. Now, MTV is joining the party with our very own prime-time specials welcoming the newest film in the "Twilight" franchise to the big screen.

On Monday, November 16, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, MTV will air "Love Bites," an exclusive half-hour special examining the lives, love and literature fueling Hollywood's current obsession with "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Utilizing new interviews, never-before-seen footage and the vast library we've accumulated over the last few years of being the fans' top "Twilight" news resource, we'll show you the couple affectionately known as "RPattz" and "KStew" like you've never seen them before.

In case that isn't enough of an Edward and Bella blowout, we'll be following that show with "New Moon Revealed" at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by our own Twi-Hard reporter Kim Stolz, the show will explore the "Twilight" phenomenon while answering the fans' most burning questions from the serious to the sublime to the just plain silly.

"Love Bites" will get up close and personal, chronicling the relationship between Pattinson and Stewart from its early stages through their present-day reign as purveyors of Hollywood's top romance. MTV will dig into the archives to give viewers a peek at their first, very intimate audition on director Catherine Hardwicke's bed, as well as the early interview on the "Twilight" set where the duo spoke candidly about building their chemistry. Hitting the streets of Vancouver and Portland, where the films were shot, viewers will find out what goes on when the cast has downtime and what local bars, restaurants and locations they frequent — as well as hear from the people who see them when they are off camera.

In "New Moon Revealed," MTV News will provide fans with unrivaled access to the "Twilight Saga," courtesy of a 30-minute special anchored from "New Moon" mall events in Los Angeles and Chicago. The show will prominently feature die-hard fans of the series as they clamor to get a glimpse of the actors they've worshipped from afar. In the show, MTV News will count down the five hottest, most burning questions fans of the "Twilight" series want answered — from exploring how stardom has changed Robert Pattinson, to finding out whether Kristen Stewart is on Team Edward or Team Jacob, to telling the behind-the-scenes tale of how Taylor Lautner almost lost the role of Jacob.

As always, MTV News is all over "Twilight." And on November 16, "Revealed" and "Love Bites" will give vampire lovers something extra special to sink their teeth into.

• AN INTERVIEW WITH RPATTZ
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Michelle

Let’s talk about New Moon. Was it fun to go back and play the role that gave you fame?
I was surprised at how easy it was going back in his shows. I like Edward and I have a lot of fun playing him.

You’re not in this movie a lot, are you?
I’m not. Edward decides to leave Bella, but he realizes it wasn’t the best idea and he comes home again. But I’m in the best scenes of the movie! (laughs)

What’s the main difference bewteen Twilight and New Moon?
The director is extremely different, and the movie has more action scenes and everything happens faster. I think it’s very different. New Moon was much more demanding physically. i had to train a lot to get in shape.

Are you getting used to fame?
I don’t think that’s something you can get used to, but I have to confess that I am enjoying my life. I think I’m a positive person, and the truth is I can’t complain of success. The people in my life know who I am and I haven’t changed in any way. Although my mom does read the tabloids and she calls me and asks, “Robert, how could you do this?”. I have to explain to her that it’s a lie.

Do you think being British helped you add elegance and poise to your character?
Yes, I think Stephenie demanded that the person who played Edward had to be British, because of the English elegance thing, I guess. She wanted most of the actors to be British because of the whole American myth around English elegance and class.

What is it about you that creates so much admiration around you? You kept the most wanted role in Hollywood!
(laughs). I don’t know, I think having a lot of chemistry with Kristen helped a lot, especially when I got the role. In the beginning I was expecting this character to be different, and I was hoping for her to play the character a different way, but her work is brilliant; we’re not talking about a damsel in distress at all, and I’m no prince charming, so that makes the relationship between the characters more real and authentic. Also, I think that the intelligence with which Kristen took on the role is what gave strength to my character. I owe her so much.

But you’re the one who became a sex symbol, not her.
That’s weird, because I’m only a sex symbol to 14 year old girls, and that’s not the best of situations. Last year I couldn’t even get a date, and all of a sudden girls changed their mind.

What are your ambitions right now?
I want to take advantage of all the opportunities that are coming up. I hope New Moon is a big hit and that it can help me get work with actors and directors that I admire.

Are you afraid of getting typecast?
By October I will be done with three Twilight movies, and then there’s two more. But this is not like it was with Harry Potter where you only get to work on these movies for 11 months out of the year. I have the opportunity to do more things, like giving life to Dali, or acting in a film with Rachel Weisz.

Have you ever fallen in love with the same passion as your character?
I’ve never fallen in love, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be romantic. I believe that love is an evolution of friendship. But to me, the passionate love we see in these movies is just a fantasy.

What was it like filming Little Ashes, a very small production compared with New Moon?
Deep down I love small productions because there isn’t that many people hanging around while you’re working. In the beginning it was weird, but at the same time it was amazing. The energy that you feel on the set of an independent movie is very different than that of a super production. But when you get into your character, you don’t feel it.

I’ve read that you were very nervous about your nude scenes and the explicit sex scenes in Little Ashes. How did you prepare?
(laughs). I have so many stupid answers for this question (laughs). I had a penis implant! Just kidding, I don’t know… it’s fun because Latin people have no problems with nudity, but English people sure have them.
It’s just little things, like this time I saw my father changing before going to the pool, and that left me completely scarred, for life. I don’t know if I did anything to prepare for this. I drove myself mad, maybe.

• ROB TO MTV: 'IT'S A LITTLE TO EARLY TO START SELLING OUT'
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Michelle

Kevin Spacey voices Honda commercials. Brad Pitt has been known to recommend a frosty Heineken or two. Jennifer Aniston would love to sell you some shampoo, Halle Berry would like to share some makeup tips, and Beyoncι hopes you pay for it all with your American Express card.

Long gone, it seems, are the days when artists sought to preserve their integrity by staying away from commercial endorsements. Which seems to leave one glaringly obvious question in the minds of "Twilight" fans worldwide: When is Robert Pattinson going to try and sell us something?

Without a doubt, the last 12 months have seen RPattz soar to a celebrity stature as huge — if not bigger — than any of the above-listed superstars. So, when we caught up with the 23-year-old British leading man recently to discuss his eagerly anticipated "New Moon" return, we had to ask: Has Rob been approached yet to do any endorsements?

"Um," he grinned, thinking carefully about his answer. "Yeah."

But even though he admitted he's been asked, Rob has made a point of not saying "yes" to anyone — no matter how much money might be involved. "You know ... it's kind of ...," he struggled. "I think it's a little early to start selling out."

Rob, who takes himself very seriously as an actor, has resisted any attempts to have him officially endorse a project. Nevertheless, the world of "Twilight" itself has plastered his face all over everything from lunchboxes to T-shirts to Barbie dolls. "New Moon" has visible tie-ins with Virgin America, Burger King, Nordstrom, Volvo and other corporate sponsors, and even his co-stars like Christian Serratos have used their newfound star-power to attract attention.

According to Rob, however, he plans to remain pure. And any product placement fans see from him is purely accidental.

"I kind of unintentionally endorse Coca-Cola," laughed the soda-loving superstar, who drinks the syrupy stuff so often that he's even inspired fans to make tongue-in-cheek YouTube videos. "I drink it ... I'm drinking it all the time, constantly. I [guess] I endorse a lot of products, but without getting paid for it."

• GO BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE BIRTHDAY SCENE WITH ROBERT PATTINSON
Posted on 12 Nov 2009 by Michelle

Star describes how everything goes from beautiful to tragic for Edward in one pivotal moment. Late last month, during MTV's "Ulalume: Howling at New Moon" special, we debuted the catalyzing scene in the upcoming "Twilight" sequel, that traumatic moment that drives all the action in the film: when Bella Swan's 18th birthday party with the Cullen family turns from joyous occasion to violent game-changer.

As committed Twilighters know, Kristen Stewart's Bella nicks her finger while opening up a present, and the sight of fresh blood triggers the need for Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) to do a little vampire feeding. In steps Robert Pattinson's Edward to smack down Jasper and make sure not a hair on his beloved's head is touched. Their relationship is forever altered.

"It's sort of the ideal birthday party in the minds of everyone involved," Pattinson said in an interview provided by Summit Entertainment. "It's all beautifully decorated, and everyone's very happy, and Edward's looking at her thinking, 'She can become part of my family and my life and maybe this can work out the way [I] want it to.' And of course, it inevitably falls to pieces, and Edward has to reassess everything about the relationship and his life, with tragic consequences."

Behind-the-scenes footage shows exactly how filmmakers created the pivotal sequence, from a makeup effects technician applying fake blood to Stewart's fingers, to the hand-to-chest combat as Pattinson shoved Rathbone back onto a black safety mat.

"We choreographed it — so I wasn't too worried about attacking Kristen — but I told the guys to hold me back, because you want it to look real," Rathbone told MTV News of the scene in August. "You want it to be as real as possible, because you want that to transfer on film, and you want the audience to feel that frightened sense that I gave Kristen. I felt really bad, man. There was a couple of moments where she was like, 'I thought you were going to hit me that time!' I come so close; it's pretty intense."

• ROBERT PATTINSON IS HYGIENE DEFICENT
Posted on 11 Nov 2009 by Michelle

While he’s definitely got the looks, Robert Pattinson may not be the best smelling man.

The vampire from “Twilight” warns his fans to keep their distance due to his unpleasant scent.

Pattinson, in a recent interview, confessed he rarely changes clothes. “These jeans are a few days old. But the top is probably fresh because it gets to the point where even I can’t stand the air around me. I don’t know, my personal hygiene-it’s so disgusting!”

But he professes that it is his crazy schedule that makes it hard to have time to worry about what he’s wearing.

And if there’s one thing in “Twilight” Edward knows how to do, it’s romance. But Pattinson isn’t so keen on it. “I don’t think I’m romantic any more. I’m just a bit manic depressive! Acting ruined my seduction techniques because you start to think everything is a ‘method.’”

But he is still into the ladies.- who can be distracting. “A lot of my ambitions are tied up with wanting pretty girls to like me. Any girl I’ve ever really wanted to go out with in the past, I’ve always lost to someone else!”
