Sara Gruen gets a star turn in the film version of her novel Water for Elephants, now in post-production.

She got to meet stars Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon. Just as thrilling was being lifted into the air by Tai the elephant, who depicts circus elephant Rosie in the movie, due April 15.

"Her trainer told me to hug her trunk," says Gruen, "so I did, and suddenly I was 7 feet in the air. She gave me many kisses, probably because I always carry mints for my horses, so I was slipping her candy every time I got a chance."

Gruen, her husband and three sons were cast as extras in a scene in which the circus performers and animals parade down the streets in Weehawken, N.J.

"We retook that scene I think 18 times," Gruen recalls. "I'm the one Rob Pattinson (who plays veterinarian Jacob Jankowski) elbows past and says, 'Excuse me, ma'am' to."

As for Christoph Waltz, who plays an abusive animal trainer, Gruen says: "I watched a scene being filmed when he was 'beating' Rosie. From the side of the road, it was very obvious that he wasn't going anywhere near her, but from behind the bank of monitors, it was extremely convincing."

A source tells me that a scruffy R.Pattz was just hanging with some friends. "They were super low-key and kept to themselves," the source says.

Reports emerged yesterday that Angelina Jolie will develop a film based on a BBC miniseries called Unforgiven. The potential project would grown from the same partnership behind Jolie’s upcoming Bosnian War movie.

Now rumors are buzzing that Robert Pattinson is also attached to Unforgiven.

“There’s speculation in the wind that Robert Pattinson has been tapped for this project,” reports Lainey Gossip. The actor met late last year with Jolie attorney Robert Offer, observes the site, “so his recent trip to see [her movie] Salt with his agent is suddenly rife with new possibility.”

While it’s always possible a high-profile actor like Pattinson could join Unforgiven — especially, as the site notes, to demonstrate his range — as of now, he is not involved.

A Pattinson insider tells Gossip Cop that rumors connecting him to the film are inaccurate.

The fangs are back in - or are they? True Blood hunk Stephen Moyer revealed he apologised to Twilight star Robert Pattinson for calling him the "Diet Coke of vampires".

The fight began last year, when Brit actor Stephen made the comments about Robert when the heartthrob refused to let his character drink human blood in the popular films.

Stephen, who plays blood-sucking Bill Compton in TV series True Blood, admitted: "I sent him a message saying, 'Dude, I hope you realise that this is a joke'.

"I did call him a wuss. But I didn't call HIM that. I referred to his character."

However, 40-year-old Stephen has put his foot in it again by admitting he has never seen the Twilight films or read the books.

He also hasn't ever met Robert. He said: "I haven't even seen Twilight. I don't even know the books.

"All I know is that one thing - I think he drinks cow blood instead of human blood."

Colton Haynes wants everyone to know that he doesn't hate Robert Pattinson. In fact, he's never even met R.Pattz.
